Ready, Get Set, RUN!

Do you remember that dreaded mile run we all had to do in Jr. High and High School gym classes? It was something no one looked forward to, except for that “one kid” who seemed to be bred specifically for running a mile, as he lapped everyone without breaking a sweat. . . Well, I’m here to tell you running in real life is nothing like that mile run!  You get into a state of mind that is unlike anything else; your mind and body finally connect. I know this all might sound insane, but it’s true.

After I caught the running fever I decided I wanted to run a half marathon, so I looked up a running schedule on google, and here is the best one I found!

*Note – CT stands for Cross Training. Biking, swimming, elliptical trainer, are just some of the things you can do. This should be at easy-to-moderate effort for 30 to 45 minutes.

I encourage anyone who says they aren’t a distance runner, to just try it! I can guarantee you will be surprised, because I certainly was! And remember nutrition is key while training for long distance running. You are burning a lot of calories so your body needs to be refueled with the right nutrients for energy.
